Who wouldn’t want to see this movie!?
The 40 Year Old Virgin Who Knocked Up Sarah Marshall and Felt Superbad About It
It’s migration season… or, hmm, it seems like these geese have been flying by my house (and landing in the lake behind my house) for the past 2 months now. And it’s definitely <40C outside now, so I wonder why they are still here. Regardless, these geese are quite oblivious to us. Or they really, really trust us:

I came home that day and heard this gnawing sound nearby. I couldn’t figure out what it was, and then…

(Sorry the video is so shaky… my camera is set to 3x zoom and it’s COLD. I’m cold, and the squirrel is cold, too. He’s shivering.)
More pharm funnies

(that Kristan may not find that amusing… lol)
The pharm prof likes to put a lot of detailed tables of drugs and their receptors, drug pathways and chemistries, etc. on his lecture slides. He spends a grand 5s on each slide, and ends each one with “you don’t have to remember any of that.” So last week… he shows this slide:
and says, “now, what do we have to learn from this table?”
And someone from the back of the room yells out, “NOTHING.”
“That’s right! Next slide.”
=P
And fyi, I’m totally failing this class… =(
My first October weekend
by rally on Oct.14, 2009, under general
It was a good weekend… rented a car and ran a bunch of errands. In particular, I went to watch Surrogates with Franke, Frost, and Franke’s roomies. On Saturday, I took a brief tour through the condo community garage sale (people were selling things in their garages… all you had to do was walk house-to-house to pick up cheap items). I picked out these 2 bears for just $1! I left them in Franke’s car because they look like good decoration.

Next, went to the Subaru dealer and test-drove the Impreza. (fun!) They were giving away free laundry detergent. “The Outback puts the stains in. Outback detergent takes it out!” (Note how small the bottles are… those are my keys next to them.)

I had Big Boy for the first time. (I had the “breakfast brunch buffet” on Saturday/Sundays!) On weekdays (and afternoons on weekends), they have burgers and a soup/salad bar combo.

And one more of the bears, because they were just too cute! They’re telling each other secrets =)

THE BEST CAKE DONUT I HAVE EVER EVER EVER HAD! Just looking at it makes me want another one… (found at U-Go’s in Pierpont Commons at 9:30am)

Peach-flavored Calpico! (pretty good, at Yogo Bliss, again)

Cookin’ dinner at home… rice+sausage fried rice wrapped in lettuce (mmmm, but so oily):

Chicken-cucumber-tomato (and soy sauce) and a regular ol’ garlic-and-salt veggie dish:

Went to a small tucked-away cafe on South University and East University where they had build-your-own pasta. I got cajun pesto + chicken + broccoli + bruschetta (mmmmm). Anyway, weirdest “shakers”… celery seed??

Random pix from life in Ann Arbor

In lieu of the SHITTY weather we have had all week (grey, rainy, 50’s), I decided to post this entry that has been sitting in the queue for a few days now:
A few weeks ago I was setting up (trying to) my AT&T DSL… it wasn’t working, so I went to consult the troubleshooting guide. At the end of the handbook was this “helpful” little sticker: (AT&T DSL technical support FAIL)

Was having a particularly bad day a few weeks ago… it was grey and raining when I left in the morning, so I had to bike through the freezing rain. I went to a 2-hour lab safety training and had to skip my favorite class (pharmacology). But, as the day progressed, I started to feel better, and the sun came out. On the way to class, I passed by this on the central campus diag:

Long-distance

(Dancing around my living room at 2:30am to the Hamster Dance… I must be losing my mind. =P)
Just wanted to share some more “personal” photos. I haven’t blogged in a while… sorry. I’ve been collecting photos every day though. Just have to get through the next 7 days of hecticness, and then I’ll be in the clear again for 2-3 weeks. (Plus a trip back home to Houston!)
This is how Carol and I do long-distance. Good thing we have webcams, we both use AT&T for cell phones, and we have similar work schedules. All in all, I think we find pretty creative ways to spend time together…?
Watching “How I Met Your Mother” online together:

One of our traditions when we were together back in Houston was to brush our teeth together… and we’ve found ways to do that still almost every single night:
